A useful distinction
A column or sidebar can move below a recommendation on mobile. A disclosure that looked nearby on desktop may then appear much later. Small text, collapsed sections and overlays can also affect whether the reader notices it.
Put it into practice
Inspect the actual published layout at a narrow viewport and enlarged text. Follow the normal reading order without opening hidden controls to find the explanation. Record the page and state checked, and repeat that review after a layout change affecting the relevant content.
