A useful distinction
A report viewed today may differ from an earlier export because of its status, processing or adjustments. The actual provider’s documentation is needed to explain those changes. A difference alone does not identify fraud or a specific technical fault.
Put it into practice
Retain the export date and report settings with the file. Compare matching definitions and ask the provider about unresolved discrepancies. Do not replace an earlier snapshot without a note, or publish a confident explanation that the available records cannot support.
