A useful distinction
A synthetic example with five qualifying events from one hundred defined clicks yields five percent under that definition. Changing the denominator changes what the percentage describes. A provider may also define the qualifying event differently from another report.
Put it into practice
Write the numerator, denominator, period and source definition together. Keep the calculation connected with matching data. Do not use this fictional example as an expected result or earnings projection, and avoid comparing percentages whose events or filters are different.
