Clicks and Impressions Describe Different Events

Read the report’s definition before comparing counts.

Independent educational journal · October 7, 2026

Blank cards connected by blue cord beside a navy notebook; a fictional editorial illustration.

A useful distinction

An impression can refer to a displayed placement, while a click refers to an interaction with a link. Providers may define and count them differently. A count is meaningful only within the report’s stated scope and filtering.

Put it into practice

Copy the column definition beside a fictional example and retain the date range. Do not compare values from unlike report types as if they counted the same event. An observed click total alone cannot establish purchases, commission or reader satisfaction.
