A useful distinction
Programmes can offer tracking identifiers to organise reported activity. Their exact capabilities and restrictions belong to the provider’s documentation. A report grouped by an identifier does not automatically reveal why an individual reader made a decision.
Put it into practice
Use fictional identifiers in public examples and keep actual account-linked records private. Read the relevant report definitions before drawing a conclusion. Do not collect or publish personal visitor details simply to make a referral report appear more informative.
